Alasdair MacLeod - Piper

I started at 8 or 9 years old in Bayble School on the Isle of Lewis and was taught by Angus MacLeod (Boxer Doyle). I played in local competitions and with the Lewis Pipe Band under Angus MacLeod, Alan MacDonald and Jimmy MacKenzie.

As a teenager I was also in the Army Cadet Force (Queen's Own Highlanders) Pipe Band with Jimmy MacKenzie and PM Andy Venters.

After a few years out, my first competition band was the City of Salford Pipe Band where I played in grade 3 from 1987-1993 with Barry Shawcross and Pete Hyland.

Next was the Lerwick Pipe Band in 1996 with Iain Morrison.

Now here I am with Grampian Police.
