Murray Main - Piper

Murray comes from Burghead and started playing the Pipes aged 8 years.  He quickly joined Elgin and District Pipe Band where he continued to receive tuition from PM Jimmy Hadden and PM Jim McGregor.

After joining Grampian Police in 1990, Murray played in the Band for two years before leaving due to other commitments.

In 1999, he returned and played in the strong grade 2 and grade 1 pipe corps.  He took over the role of Secretary at the end of 2002, and moved on to Band Manager in January 2009.

Murray is an Inspector undertaking a strategic role within the Force.
