Rikki Evans - Piper Rikki started his Pipe Band career with Oldmeldrum R.B.L in 1994, aged 7, initially as a tenor drummer before quickly progressing onto the pipes.
Rikki was fortunate to receive early tuition from Ian and Barry Tough. Along with his brother, Barry Evans, and with the support of their parents, both Evans brothers began competing at solo competitions throughout Scotland.
The highlight of his piping career to date is when Oldmeldrum Pipe Band won Grade 4b World Champions 2003. He continued playing with Oldmeldrum until, at the age of 18, he joined Grampian Police Pipe Band. In 2007, he also joined Grampian Police as a civilian employee where he remains to date, within the Force Service Centre. |
