Richard Bond

Richard started playing the pipes at 7 years old. He was taught by Pipe Major Angus McDonald and later by Glen Cupples and Richard Anderson

His first band was Maclean of Annan Novice Juvenile Band. He quickly progressed through grade 3 and 2 before leaving to join Royal Ulster Constabulary in grade 1.

Richard moved on to McNielston before heading north due to work commitments and joined 2622 Highland Squadron. He has had success on the solo circuit with performances at the Northern Meeting and success at RAF Competitions.

He joined Grampian Police Pipe Band at the start of 2010 and makes the 130 mile round trip twice a week to attend practices and events.

Richard is a dog handler with the Military Police, stationed at RAF Kinloss.
