Grampian Police Pipe Band turned in a strong performance at the local Branch Mini Bands at St Machar Academy, Aberdeen on Saturday 15 March 2008.
The Band entered several ‘mini Bands’ to compete against other Bands from throughout the north of Scotland and were placed a healthy 2nd & 3rd in Grade 2. However, they later took the highest prize of the day being placed 1st & 3rd in Grade 1.
Pipe Major Drew Sinclair said, “I was delighted with all our performances at the mini bands, particularly as we utilised a large number of players over our four mini band performances, which is very encouraging as we prepare for the season ahead.”
Serving notice for the competition season ahead, PM Sinclair continued, “This season will see us compete at all the Major contests for the first time in 3 seasons following a substantial rebuild and our focus is very much on achieving a high competing standard once again.”
