Grampian Police Pipe Band have welcomed a new member to their extended family.

Little Beth Louise Main arrived safely on Thursday 20 August, at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital weighing in at a healthy 8lbs 3oz.

Proud Dad, Band Manager and Piper Murray Main said, "Beth arrived about 8.30 am on what was her due date. 

"Karen and I are absolutely delighted and I know our other daughter, Ella (aged 3) is especially chuffed to be a big sister.  It' been a long nine months for her".

The expected arrival has forced Murray to miss out recent competitions, including the Worlds where the Band were placed 5th.

He added, "Recent results have been excellent and the Band haven't missed me.

"I am looking forward to getting back playing, once of course I have some free time from changing all the nappies...".

Everyone connected with the Band wishes Beth and the Main family well.
