Grampian Police Pipe Band continued their excellent start to the 2010 season by taking another top prize, this time at the first local contest of the season.

The newly crowned Scottish Champions, won the 38th annual Turriff and District Pipe Band grade 2 contest at an overcast Haughs, Turriff on Sunday, June 6th.  15 Bands took part in the event, 6 within grade 2. 

Playing their medley selection, the Band was placed 1st in piping and 3rd in drumming.  That ensured they secured first prize on a piping preference.

Organiser decided against holding a grade 1 competition this year.

The Band can next be seen competing locally in Aberdeen on Sunday, June 20th.
