Pipe Major Satisfied with Progress

Grampian Police Pipe BandPipe Major Drew Sinclair has said he is satisfied with the Bands progress and preparations for the forthcoming season, despite losing out at the Mini Bands on Saturday.

The Band was competing at the annual local Branch Mini Pipe Band Competitions within the beautiful setting of the new International School, Aberdeen on Saturday, March 19th.

The Band played the medley in both Grade 2 and Grade 1 to judges Pipe Major M. McKenzie and Drum Major J. Noble.

However, in the Grade 2 contest, the Police Band was beaten into second place by the Grade 3 Band, Turriff and District.

The Police Band were unchallenged in Grade 1, to retain that title.

Speaking afterwards, Pipe Major Sinclair said: "I thought we played well enough and we held a good sound."

Pipe Major Sinclair added: "We can take a number of positives from today, including another solid performance from the drum corps.  I am certainly content with the progress we are making this year and we are all looking forward to the first out door contest."
