Piper Alex Simpson was on hand to welcome the new and old pupils at Aberdeen's International School on their first day of term.

Staff and pupils arriving back after the summer break were met by the sounds of the pipes on a drizzly Thursday, August 18th, before lessons started.

Included in those arriving were a Venezuelan family of 3 generations (pictured).

Grampian Police Pipe Band have a close association with the International School having played at many events over recent years. 

The Band also utilise their excellent facilities for practicing twice a week.
