There is increased potential TV coverage through the BBC's expanding coverage of the World Pipe Band Championships, which in 2006, consisted of two 50 minute television programmes. BBC Northern Ireland also cover any major championship hosted there. A major competition is planned in Ireland during 2007 and 2008, securing television coverage for the next two years.

The Band also performs at a number of high profile events in and around Aberdeen on behalf of Aberdeen City Council. In the past it has performed at a large number of Royal visits, including the Queen's Golden Jubilee official visit and Band members welcomed HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall on their arrival at Aberdeen Airport to start their honeymoon. This news footage was broadcasted worldwide. Other regular events include Aberdeen City Remembrance Day Parade, The Kirkin' of the Council Parade and Aberdeen City Hogmanay celebrations.

Grampian Police Pipe Band are also closely associated with Diced Cap Charitable Trust, a charity run by Grampian Police staff in their own time, to raise funds for charitable and needy causes in the Force area of north east Scotland. It is also pleased to assist Cancer Charities where possible and, in particular Roxburghe House, Rachel House Children's Hospice, CLAN Cancer, 'A Touch of Tartan Ball' and 'Kids Out'.
